A gigantic apology…the total for Team Salem is now correct. Salem leads by about $75 million going into this weekend. Thanks to the comment by “Anonymous” for spotting the error by Metcalf (unintentional, I swear!). Updated totals for the first annual ShowBuzzDaily Summer Movie Draft show Team Salem $800,000 ahead of Team Metcalf through Thursday (an advantage of 0.2% for those of you keeping score at home). Well, that advantage will grow this weekend as Super 8 opens across North America for Salem, but Metcalf is happy that the film is not looking like the surprise hit that it could have been. We had predicted a $33 million opening weekend, but early Friday numbers leaked to DeadlineHollywood point to a $30 million weekend. We’ll see in the morning….
