THE SKED’S MONDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 5/14/12

A night for departures and arrivals..

CBS:  The 1-hour season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (which disclosed not The Mother, but Barney’s wife) was up from recent episodes at 3.6, also better than last week’s 2 Broke Girls finale.  The 2 1/2 MEN season finale was even with recent weeks at 3.8, but MIKE & MOLLY‘s finale was up a bit at 3.3.  HAWAII 5-0‘s season finale was up from last week’s season low, but even with other recent episodes.

NBC:  AMERICA’S GOT TALENT debuted with a 3.6, which despite all the hype around new judge Howard Stern, was lower than the show’s off-season start last year at 4.3.  SMASH‘s season finale drew no new viewers, as the show’s 1.8 was the same number it had for the past 3 weeks.

ABC:  DANCING WITH THE STARS provided a season low 2.6 lead in for the return of THE BACHELORETTE, which held the 2.6 number.  That was a bit below Bachelorette‘s 2.8 debut last year, but in 2011 it had a far stronger Dancing number as lead-in.

FOX:  The BONES season finale tied its 1.9 season low from last week.  The penultimate HOUSE was up a bit to 2.2.

CW:  GOSSIP GIRL‘s season finale got a solid lift to 0.6 (up from last week’s terrible 0.4), then the HART OF DIXIE season finale held even at 0.6.

Tonight’s season finales include both NCISes (with a 2-hour finale for NCIS LA), PRIVATE PRACTICE, FASHION STAR, and 90210COUGAR TOWN has its 1-hour ABC finale, as it prepares to change homes to TBS next season.  FOX airs a 2-hour GLEE (not the season finale) with guest star Lindsay Lohan.
