UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK SCORECARD – 1/13/14

Posted January 14, 2014 by Mitch Salem

AFTERNOON UPDATE:  INTELLIGENCE added a meaningless 0.1 in final numbers, giving it a still-terrible 1.2.  THE BACHELOR (up to 2.3) and MOM (2.2) also gained 0.1. MONDAY CABLE:  The first Monday airing of ARCHER slipped a bit from its Thursday finale last April, down 0.1 to 1.0, but the bigger concern for FX is […]

SKEDBALL: Sochi Winter Olympic Ratings

Posted February 9, 2014 by Mitch Metcalf

The first Saturday of Winter Olympic coverage averaged a 6.5 adult 18-49 rating from 8:30-11:00 pm last night on NBC.  This must be slightly disappointing for the network, as last night was a a few notches below the comparable night from Turin in 2006, after seeing a Friday Opening Ceremony number (8.7 rating) closer to […]

NIELSENWAR: Olympics Post-Mortem, and Top 5 Midseason Storylines

SQUIRREL!  NBC, and its media enablers, will do their best to focus discussion of the WINTER OLYMPICS ratings on total viewers, daytime and online numbers, and–SQUIRREL!–anything other than the evident fact that the Games didn’t justify a cost that probably exceeded $1 billion, between rights ($775M alone) and production costs over the 18 days of […]

WEDNESDAY CABLE:  As we prepare […]

Sunday preliminary broadcast ratings: 60 Minutes and the CBS 7:00-7:30 half hour specifically inflated by 10 minutes of the end of Masters coverage from 7:00-7:10 pm (mostly the monumentally awkward and amazingly tense ceremony in “Butler Cabin,” where the Green Jacket is awarded).

UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK SCORECARD – 5/7/14

Posted May 8, 2014 by Mitch Salem

NETWORK UPDATE:  The changes were all minor in the afternoon’s adjustments, although in some cases enough to get shows (barely) off their series/season lows.  On ABC, THE MIDDLE, SUBURGATORY and MODERN FAMILY were all up 0.1 (but not MIXOLOGY or NASHVILLE).  AMERICAN IDOL, ARROW, and SVU also went up 0.1. WEDNESDAY CABLE:  TNT’s NBA […]
