THE SKED: “About A Boy” Has Blah Post-Olympics Preview

Posted February 23, 2014 by Mitch Salem

Everyone knows that the shine of a post-Olympics “preview” berth doesn’t last long–just ask 2012’s Go On and Animal Practice.  But it’s at least supposed to provide a new show with a strong sampling.  Ironically, last night’s WINTER OLYMPICS ratings were so disastrous (2.6 in preliminary numbers–see Mitch Metcalf’s Skedball post for details)  that ABOUT A […]

THURSDAY CABLE:  VIKINGS and PAWN STARS led the way for History once again, at 1.0 and 0.8/1.0 […]

NIELSENWAR: Pre-Upfront – What Will the Networks Do?

Posted May 5, 2014 by Mitch Salem

The network averages for last week are significant because they represent a full week of sweeps programming, which means reruns were at a minimum and some stunting (although not a tremendous amount of it: a Chicago Fire/PD crossover here, the IHeartRadio Music Awards there) boosted the numbers.  In other words, barring really big events […]

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 5/23/14

Posted May 24, 2014 by Mitch Salem

The highest rated shows on network television last night had 1.3 ratings. NBC:  The season finale of HANNIBAL is currently at 0.9, matching last week, but it began at 10:01PM and followed a 1.6 for the last half-hour of DATELINE, so that number may come down in final ratings on Monday.  However, it should […]
