NETWORK FINALS:  UNITED WE SING, HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT, the CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD rerun, and the reruns of STARGIRL and SUPERGIRL all lost 0.1 in final numbers (in the case of the CW shows, down to zero in 18-49s).

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  It was a night of scripted premieres, led by Paramount’s YELLOWSTONE at a remarkable 0.89 (plus 0.08 on CMT and 0.05 on Pop), almost double last year’s 0.45 premiere on a Wednesday (the CMT simulcast was up 0.03 from 2019).  Particularly impressive was that while its 50+ audience was up 68% from 2019, its 18-34 viewers were up 132%.  It was a long way down from there to the season premiere of AMC’s NOS4A2 at 0.12 (plus 0.02/84K on BBCAmerica), down 0.17 from last year’s series premiere (which had FEAR THE WALKING DEAD as a lead-in).  On Showtime, THE CHI returned at 0.11, down 0.02 from last season’s premiere, with PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS up 0.02 to 0.04, and VICE down a tick to 0.01/119K.  On HBO, PERRY MASON arrived at 0.09, nowhere near WESTWORLD’s 0.29 and uncomfortably close to the 0.05 for I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE, although PERRY was a draw with older audiences, as evidenced by the fact that although its 18-49 rating was 0.04 below THE CHI, its total viewers metric was 536K higher; LAST WEEK TONIGHT was steady at 0.19.  Meanwhile, THE ESPY AWARDS moved from ABC back to ESPN and crumpled from 0.9 to 0.14 (plus 0.04 on ESPN2).  TBS’s TOURNAMENT OF LAUGHS premiered at 0.13.

Elsewhere in scripted, TNT’s SNOWPIERCER dipped 0.03 to 0.25.  Hallmark’s GOOD WITCH rose 0.06 to 0.20.  Starz’s HIGHTOWN was steady at 0.02/219K. 

Unscripted was topped by TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE, down 0.08 to 0.84 (the after-show was down 0.03 to 0.35), with SMOTHERED down 0.06 to 0.37.  On Food Network, WORST COOKS IN AMERICA climbed 0.05 to 0.32, and BEAT BOBBY FLAY ticked up to 0.21.  On HGTV, RENOVATION ISLAND slipped 0.02 to 0.30, BAHAMAS LIFE was at 0.27/0.27 compared to last week’s 0.27/0.27, and MEXICO LIFE was at 0.22/0.21.  On Discovery, NAKED & AFRAID was at 0.28, compared to last week’s 0.27/0.17/0.16, and WHY WE HATE was at 0.06.  NBC Sports Net’s PREMIER LEAGUE match was at 0.24.  Golf Network’s PGA TOUR match was at 0.22.  On ID, ON THE CASE was steady at 0.18, and AMERICAN MONSTER ticked down to 0.16.  Bravo’s MARRIED TO MEDICINE gained 0.03 to 0.14.
