Only NBC showed real growth.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
ABC: After 0.9 for AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS (down 0.1), ONCE UPON A TIME and QUANTICO were steady at 1.1/1.0, and THE FAMILY inched up 0.1 to 0.8.
CBS: Primetime was bumped half an hour by the ending of THE MASTERS coverage, which helped 60 MINUTES jump half a point to 1.6. Then MADAM SECRETARY was up 0.1 to 1.1 from its last airing 2 weeks ago, and ELEMENTARY aired 2 episodes at 0.9/0.9, both up 0.1 from 2 weeks ago.
NBC: The night’s new LITTLE BIG SHOTS (after a 0.8 rerun) rose 0.2 to 2.0, and both THE CARMICHAEL SHOW (1.2) and CROWDED (1.0) were also up 0.2. DATELINE did even better, up 0.3 to 1.1.
FOX: BORDERTOWN and COOPER BARRETT’S GUIDE TO LIFE each gained 0.1 to twin 0.5s. THE SIMPSONS and BOB’S BURGERS were each up 0.1 to twin 1.1s. Weirdly, the highest rated show on the line-up was the FAMILY GUY rerun at 1.2, then LAST MAN ON EARTH (which followed a 0.9 BOB’S BURGERS last week) was up 0.2 to 1.1.
All the broadcast networks air original episodes tonight. On cable, TBS officially launches THE DETOUR after having aired episodes several times around its NCAA coverage, and there’s some changeover at Syfy, which features the season finale of THE MAGICIANS and the debut of HUNTERS.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
