THE SKED’S TUESDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 9/4/12

Viewers have the same lack of interest in the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION that they did in the Republicans.

FOX:  Without the burden of convention coverage, and with its HELL’S KITCHEN/MASTERCHEF double-bill at 2.5/2.7, the network romped away with the night.

NBC:  AMERICA’S GOT TALENT‘s 2.3 was the highest-rated non-FOX show of the night, but it’s down both from last week and last summer as it approaches its season finale.  Currently the Peacock’s convention coverage has a commanding lead over CBS and ABC at 1.3 compared to 0.6/0.7, but these live numbers will be adjusted later today.

ABC:  A rerun of THE MIDDLE was, at 1.2, the best the network could do for the night.

CBS:  Ditto, except the 1.2 was for an NCIS rerun.

CW:  More low-rated reruns.

Convention coverage continues tonight, and before that all the networks except ABC will have some new programming, but none of that matters at all, because virtually everyone will be watching NFL FOOTBALL make its regular season debut on NBC, as the Giants start their defense of their title against the Cowboys. The game may be close; the ratings race won’t be.
