CONTAINMENT took off its hazmat suit.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CW: New shows typically decline after their premieres, so the 0.1 rise for the 2d episode of CONTAINMENT to 0.6 is worthy of note, especially since it sustained that number throughout the hour. It certainly didn’t hurt that lead-in THE FLASH was also up 0.1 to 1.3.
FOX: An almost all-NEW GIRL night mostly showcased how tired that show’s ratings have become. The 8PM rating of 1.0 was up 0.1 from last week, but it earned a 0.8 at 9PM (below last week’s BROOKLYN NINE-NINE finale) and a rerun of the episode that featured Prince as a guest star was at 0.7 at 9:30PM. Stuck in between at 8:30PM was GRANDFATHERED at 0.6, down 0.2 from its last new episode in early March.
CBS: The network didn’t give LIMITLESS much of a platform for its season finale, with 1.2/1.1 reruns of NCIS/NCIS: NEW ORLEANS as lead-ins. LIMITLESS held last week’s 1.1 (which followed a new line-up).
NBC: THE VOICE gained 0.1 to 1.9, then CHICAGO FIRE was up 0.2 to 1.8 and CHICAGO FIRE was steady at 1.7.
ABC: After 2 weeks of reruns, FRESH OFF THE BOAT returned up 0.2 to 1.3, which helped THE REAL O’NEALS gain 0.2 to 1.0. AGENTS OF SHIELD nudged up 0.1 to 1.0, and BEYOND THE TANK stayed at 0.5.
The last night before May sweeps will be a quiet one, with NBC and ABC mostly in reruns.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
