>A weak Sunday Night Football game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers brought NBC near its season low for the football package. The game, which started at 8:30 pm, scored a preliminary 5.2 Adult 18-49 rating in the fast nationals. We are estimating that the game will go up to a 5.9 in the official nationals tomorrow.

CBS enjoyed a strong NFL late afternoon game (New England Patriots at Denver Broncos in most of the country), providing a preliminary 8.0 rating in the 7:00-7:30 half hour. That rating should probably go up to around a 9 rating in the official nationals. 60 Minutes, starting past 7:35 pm, is looking like a preliminary 4.4 rating, its highest rated episode if the number holds. The Survivor finale aired from 8:35-10:35 pm, logging a 4.0 rating, down from the 4.7 from the fall finale on the same night last year. The Survivor Reunion show at 10:35 pm rated a 3.2, also down from a 4.2 on the same night last year. The CBS nightly average from last night will not be precise until tomorrow when the live NFL runover at 7:00 is properly measured, and the same goes for NBC. But it appears NBC and CBS will be very close for the entire evening, with CBS possibly edging NBC for the first time this fall on Sunday.

Sunday preliminary broadcast ratings: 60 Minutes and the CBS 7:00-7:30 half hour specifically inflated by 10 minutes of the end of Masters coverage from 7:00-7:10 pm (mostly the monumentally awkward and amazingly tense ceremony in “Butler Cabin,” where the Green Jacket is awarded).
