NETWORK FINALS:  TIME AFTER TIME needs all the help that it can get, so the fact that it squeezed its way to a 0.65 in final numbers, rounding up to 0.7, makes it slightly less dismal than it was in preliminaries.  In addition, NCIS: LA gained 0.1.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  FX’s FEUD: BETTE AND JOAN started at 0.52, a fair debut.  It’s notable but not surprising that the series is skewing extremely old, the #2 show of the night in the 50+ demo at 1.42. E!’s premiere of THE ARRANGEMENT (previously available via VOD/streaming) was OK at 0.36, notably below its 0.52 lead-in from a run of the movie FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, and somewhat lower than the 0.50 2015 premiere of THE ROYALS, although considerably better than that show’s recent ratings, which have hovered around 0.20.  The Turner networks aired the IHEARTMUSIC AWARDS across several networks, with scores of 0.57 on TNT, 0.43 on TBS, and 0.15 on Tru.  The season premiere of Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID was at 0.68.  

AMC’S THE WALKING DEAD didn’t have to face the Oscars this week, but that didn’t stop its slide, as it fell another 0.24 to 4.71.  That’s down a scary 1.44 from last year’s post-Oscar week, and while WALKING DEAD is still the highest-rated scripted show on television, it’s hard to dispute its decline. TALKING DEAD fell 0.18 to 1.56, and COMIC BOOK MEN was down 0.04 to 0.34.  On Showtime, HOMELAND like several other shows bounced back from its airing against the Oscars, up 0.22 to 0.51, with BILLIONS up 0.12 to 0.27.  On HBO, BIG LITTLE LIES jumped 0.22 to 0.41, GIRLS was up 0.05 to 0.24, CRASHING gained 0.06 to 0.16, and LAST WEEK TONIGHT had a 0.18 bump to 0.45. Adult Swim’s SUPERMANSION ticked up to 0.40.  Hallmark’s WHEN CALLS THE HEART was also up a tick, to 0.21.  On Starz, BLACK SAILS rose 0.06 to 0.19, and THE MISSING remained off the chart, up 0.01 to 0.04/167K.

Some unscripted shows took last week off, so those comparisons are to 2 weeks ago.  Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA gained a tenth to 1.15, and FIRST FAMILY OF HIP-HOP was up 0.03 to 0.42.  ESPN’s Oklahoma City vs. Dallas NBA game was at 0.58.  ID’s EVIL LIVES HERE jumped 0.17 from last week’s airing to 0.47, and 2 hours of MURDER IN LEHIGH VALLEY were at 0.38/0.41.  Food Network also aired its line-up last week, yet WORST COOKS IN AMERICA fell 0.08 to 0.45 from its Oscar night airing, and GUY’S GROCERY GAMES was down 0.06 to 0.35.  TLC was another network with Oscar night programming, and LONG ISLAND MEDIUM bounced back by 0.11 to 0.34, with LONG LOST FAMILY up 0.07 to 0.34, and WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE at 0.24.  Spike’s BAR RESCUE fell 0.05 from last week to 0.31.
