With 3 nights left in the broadcast season, an evening light on finales.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CW: SUPERGIRL’s first CW finale was naturally far below last year’s on CBS, but its 0.6 was up 0.1 from last week. The JANE THE VIRGIN season finale doubled last week (at least in early numbers) to 0.4, which was steady with the 2016 finale.
ABC: After DANCING WITH THE STARS climbed 0.3 to 1.8, THE BACHELORETTE had a 1.8 season premiere, which was down 0.2 from 2016.
NBC: THE VOICE gained 0.1 from last week to 1.9, and an episode of RUNNING WILD was at 0.9, 0.1 below last week’s THE WALL in that slot.
FOX: GOTHAM was up 0.1 to 0.9, and LUCIFER held at 0.8.
CBS: An evening of specials didn’t spark much interest, with the 2-hour PRINCESS DIANA: HER LIFE, HER DEATH, THE TRUTH at 0.8, and the latest CARPOOL KARAOKE clip show hour at 0.7.
Tonight’s deluge of finales includes THE VOICE, DANCING WITH THE STARS, BULL, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, THE FLASH, and GREAT NEWS.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
