NETWORK FINALS:  The MADAM SECRETARY rerun gained 0.1 and the CODE BLACK rerun lost the same in final numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  THE BET AWARDS were aired across several Viacom networks, with the following results:  1.54 on BET (down 0.41 from last year), with a 0.67 POST-SHOW and a 0.43 PRE-SHOW; 0.21 on VH1; 0.15 on MTV; 0.15 on Comedy Central; 0.14 on Spike; 0.08 on Centric; 0.07 on MTV2; 0.01/53K on Logo; and 0.01/38K on MTV Classic.  

On AMC, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD edged up 0.02 to 0.96, and the out-of-timeslot season premiere of PREACHER followed at 0.58, which was down 0.32 from the 2016 premiere, but to be fair that night FEAR provided a much better lead-in at 1.88.  TALKING DEAD, which aired after PREACHER, was down 0.09 from last week’s post-FEAR episode to 0.25.  On Starz, POWER had its season premiere at 0.78, down a substantial 0.32 from 2016 (down 0.13 from last season’s finale), although still a big number considering that Starz is in only about 1/3 of US households.  On Adult Swim, MIKE TYSON MYSTERIES gained 0.06 to 0.55, and DECKER UNSEALED ticked up to 0.33.  On HBO, LAST WEEK TONIGHT, up 0.06 to 0.51, outpaced the night’s two season finales, as SILICON VALLEY ticked up to 0.43, and VEEP ticked down to 0.22.  TNT’s CLAWS slipped 0.03 to 0.39.  Hallmark’s GOOD WITCH rose 0.04 to 0.25.  On Showtime, TWIN PEAKS was steady at 0.11, but the more interesting question is what the rating will be when it returns in 2 weeks from perhaps the most WTF hour ever to air on a major network; I’M DYING UP HERE stayed off the chart at 0.04/113K.  

Fox Sports 1’s afternoon NASCAR race led unscripted at 0.58, and the primetime UFC FIGHT NIGHT was at 0.33.  TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE was at 0.49.  HGTV’s highest-rated show of the night was the 8PM LAKEFRONT BARGAIN HUNTERS, up 0.13 to 0.44, and the rest of the line-up was at 0.34-0.40.  On Food Network, FOOD NETWORK STAR lost 0.04 to 0.40, and GUY’S GROCERY GAMES shed a tick to 0.29. On ID, ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN slipped 0.02 to 0.30, and DISAPPEARED was down 0.03 to 0.25.  On E!, BOTCHED fell 0.09 to 0.29, FAMOUSLY SINGLE returned at 0.20, and WHAT HAPPENS AT THE ABBEY was down 0.04 to 0.08.  Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID special dropped 0.09 to 0.26.
