No medal for THE BACHELOR WINTER GAMES.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
NBC: The preliminary 5.2 for WINTER OLYMPICS coverage continued to be below parallel nights, albeit in a different world of television: 2014 Sochi 6.6, 2010 Vancouver 5.5, 2006 Turin 5.6, 2002 Salt Lake City 10.3. Finals for the night should rise 0.3-0.4.
ABC: THE BACHELOR WINTER GAMES premiered at 0.8, slightly over half the rating for the regular BACHELOR on Monday. A special 20/20 followed at 0.4.
CW: Despite the mega-competition and a rerun THE FLASH at 0.3 as its lead-in, BLACK LIGHTNING dipped just 0.1 from last week to 0.1.
CBS: Reruns at 0.5-0.8.
FOX: Reruns at 0.5-0.6.
Valentine’s Day is a slow TV night anyway, especially for younger audiences, and with the Olympics on, the other networks aren’t trying very hard. CBS has another episode of BIG BROTHER: CELEBRITY EDITION and THE AMAZING RACE, and CW airs a pair of holiday-related specials, RELATIONSHIPS JUST FOR LAUGHS and TOP 14 GREATEST VALENTINE’S DAY MOVIES.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
