BROADCAST FINALS

ABC:  AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS gained 0.03 to 0.49, CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE was steady at 0.44, SUPERMARKET SWEEP held at 0.35, and THE ROOKIE was down 0.02 to 0.30.

CBS:  The network again lacked the late national NFL game.  60 MINUTES rose 0.04 to 0.64, THE EQUALIZER slipped 0.02 to 0.57, and NCIS: LA was up 0.03 to 0.50.  With SEAL TEAM now on Paramount+, a rerun of NCIS: HAWAII held the 10PM slot at 0.34.

NBC:  SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL was at 4.01, down 0.34 from last week’s game.

FOX:  With the late national NFL game for the 2nd consecutive week and no World Series, comparisons are to October 10.  THE SIMPSONS dropped 0.17 to 1.15, GREAT NORTH lost 0.12 to 0.64, BOB’S BURGERS fell 0.11 to 0.56, and FAMILY GUY was up 0.03 to 0.59.

CW:  LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE ticked up to 0.06, followed by reruns at 0.02/0.03.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  Scripted cable got a reminder of what colossal success looks like, as Paramount’s YELLOWSTONE began its 4th season at an incredible 1.62/1.49, a huge number in any case and even more amazing considering that last year’s season premiere was at 0.89, the kind of burst that just isn’t seen anymore.  (In an irony that no doubt reverberates through the studio’s executive halls, the show won’t run on its in-house streaming platform because those rights were already sold to Peacock.)  There were also simulcasts on Pop at 0.13/0.13, on TV Land at 0.09/0.08, and on CMT at 0.07/0.06.

Compared to YELLOWSTONE, Showtime’s premiere of DEXTER: NEW BLOOD was comparatively puny at 0.20, but that’s still a very good number for the network.  (The last DEXTER premiere in 2013 was of course in a different era of ratings, but as a matter of interest it was at 1.2.)  The tide lifted all Showtime boats, as the finale of THE CIRCUS rose 0.03 to 0.04, and the finale of AMERICAN RUST was also up 0.03 to 0.04, with DESUS & MERO up 0.02 to 0.03.

Elsewhere in scripted, Hallmark’s original movie was at 0.20.  On AMC, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD dipped 0.03 to 0.15, and WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND ticked up to 0.10.  On HBO, SUCCESSION climbed 0.03 to 0.11, LAST WEEK TONIGHT edged up 0.02 to 0.09, INSECURE grew by 0.04 to 0.09, and CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM ticked up to 0.08.  On Adult Swim, SQUIDBILLIES was at 0.11/0.09, and JOE PERA TALKS WITH YOU was at 0.08/0.06.  BBCAmerica’s DOCTOR WHO was at 0.08.

Unscripted was led by TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE, up 0.09 to 0.45, with I LOVE A MAMA’S BOY down a tick to 0.21.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC jumped 0.12 to 0.41, and REAL HOUSEWIVES OF SLC was up a tenth to 0.28.  NBC Sports Net’s PREMIER LEAGUE matches were at 0.24/0.13.  On Food Network, HOLIDAY WARS returned at 0.23/0.21.  On Discovery, ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE ticked down to 0.16, and HOMESTEAD RESCUE was up 0.02 to 0.13.  On ID, ON THE CASE lost 0.02 to 0.12, and AMERICAN MONSTER ticked down to 0.11.  On A&E, THE FIRST 48 was at 0.12.  HGTV’s RENO INC was down 0.02 to 0.09.  On History, ENGINEERING THAT BUILT THE WORLD dipped 0.02 to 0.08, and WHEN BIG THINGS GO WRONG was steady at 0.08.
