Basketball, as always, beat Broadway last night.
ABC: Per Mitch Metcalf: we have adjusted the 4.6 fast national adult 18-49 rating for NBA FINALS GAME 2 to an estimated 5.4 rating. However, the 5.4 would still be 17% below the Sunday night game last year (on June 17), a similar decline to Game 1 on Thursday. ABC started the night with an adjusted 1.1 for JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, down 0.7 from Thursday’s airing (which was at 8PM), and then the NBA COUNTDOWN pre-game show was at 2.0 (down 0.2).
CBS: The TONY AWARDS were up 0.2 from last year to 1.2, which sounds better when you say “up 20%”.
NBC: Reruns of THE VOICE and AMERICA’S GOT TALENT at 0.6/1.3 (the latter still enough to beat The Tonys).
FOX: Animated reruns, highlighted by a 1.3 for FAMILY GUY.
ABC and NBC air all-new line-ups tonight, including a “preview” on NBC of its new unscripted THE WINNER IS… TNT continues the rollout of its summer schedule with the season premiere of MAJOR CRIMES and the series premiere of KING & MAXWELL.
