Apparently ABC viewers are unimpressed by superheroes.
ABC: On a night when the other networks were mostly down (were viewers at the multiplex to see the near-record Avengers opening?), all of ABC’s shows were up, and the network took the night across the board. SHARK TANK and PRIMETIME, in particular, rose a strong 0.3 for the night, to 1.7 and 1.4 respectively, while 20/20 was up a more modest 0.1.
FOX: Both THE FINDER and the 1st part of FRINGE‘s season finale were down 0.1, to a respective 1.0 and 0.9.
NBC: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE and GRIMM were both down 0.1 (to 0.9 and 1.3), but DATELINE was up by the same amount to 1.3.
CBS: UNDERCOVER BOSS and CSI NY both fell 0.2 (to 1.4 and 1.3), while BLUE BLOODS fell a softer 0.1 to 1.4.
CW: NIKITA and SUPERNATURAL held steady at 0.4 and 0.7, but for Nikita, that may be another nail in the coffin.
Notwithstanding last night’s performance, ABC will try to pull some superhero fans loose tonight with a run of the Will Smith theatrical Hancock. NBC interrupts its burn-off of The Firm to hype the Monday/Tuesday season finale of THE VOICE by re-running last Monday’s episode (followed by a SATURDAY NIGHT LIFE hosted by Eli Manning–look for our review late tonight), and FOX airs a UFC match. Sunday is all-new, marked by the 2-hour season finale of THE AMAZING RACE on CBS.
