TUESDAY
TNT: RIZZOLI & ISLES dipped a bit, down 150,000 total viewers to 5.3M and down 0.1 in the 18-49 demo to 1.0, and PERCEPTION followed suit, down by just about the same margins to 3.4M total viewers and 0.7 in the demo.
USA: The numbers for SUITS and to a lesser extent COVERT AFFAIRS may have been dented by DirecTV issues in Tuesday’s transmission. In any case, both shows were down from last week by the same margin of 400,000 viewers and 0.1 in the demo, leaving Suits at 2.9M/1.0, and Covert at 2.3M/0.7. It’s worth noting that after needing the first 2 episodes of its season to fully dig its way out of the hole it left itself with last winter’s finale, which split up the show’s heroes, episode 3 found Suits back in high gear (“Butch & Sundance–Together Again” was the episode’s motif).
ABCFAMILY: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS took something of a tumble, down 600,000 total viewers and 0.2 in the 18-49 demo to 2.3M/1.1. In the network’s target demos, it was down 0.3 among females 12-34 to 3.1, a whopping 1.2 in female teens (to a still-enormous 4.4) and since ABCFamily didn’t even mention women 18-34 in its press release, it’s safe to assume that number was down too. All that being the case, the newly-backordered TWISTED didn’t get banged up too badly, down 200,000 total viewers but steady at 0.5 in the 18-49 demo. However, things were somewhat worse in the target demos, as the show fell 0.5 among females 12-34 (to 1.4), a painful 1.0 in female teens (to 2.6) and 0.2 in women 18-34 (to 1.0). The reality show THE VINEYARD was relatively steady, but at a low level: down 100,000 viewers to 600K, and even at 0.3 among 18-49s.
WEDNESDAY
USA: ROYAL PAINS got a bit younger week to week, remaining at around 3.5M total viewers but with 0.9 instead of 0.8 in 18-49s. NECESSARY ROUGHNESS was almost exactly even at 2.5M/0.7, lifted creatively but not in the ratings by its format changes this season.
TNT: FRANKLIN & BASH aged a bit, staying at 0.7 in the demo but with 200,000 more total viewers at 2.3M.
FX: THE BRIDGE is still struggling, remaining at 1.8M total viewers but down 0.1 to 0.6 among 18-49s. FX is a younger-skewing network than USA or TNT, as its lower total viewer number demonstrates, so these 18-49 ticks really matter.
