Last night’s CMA Awards were a huge hit for ABC, but because the last two Wednesdays featured World Series games, the other networks (except for FOX, of course) were already down–the better comparison is to three weeks ago.
ABC: Moving from Thursday to Wednesday was the charm for THE CMA AWARDS, which zoomed 24% from last year to a tremendous 4.7.
FOX: The CMAs killed THE X FACTOR, which had its lowest-rated regular timeslot rating ever, down one-third from the 2.2 for show’s last Wednesday airing.
CBS: The increased competition barely dented SURVIVOR, which slipped just 0.1 from Oct. 16 to 2.5, However, while CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI held even with last week, at 2.4 and 1.7 respectively, both were down 0.3 from Oct. 16.
NBC: REVOLUTION seems to have found its tepid level, and its 1.4 held last week’s number and was down just 0.1 from Oct. 16. SVU, at 1.5, aired a rerun last week, but was down 0.3 from the Oct. 16 run. DATELINE was at 1.1.
CW: ARROW was up 0.2 from last week at 1.0, although that was down 0.1 from Oct. 16. THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, steady from last week at 0.6, was down 0.3 from its pre-baseball rating.
More trouble for X Factor: NBC is filling its 8PM hour tonight with a special outing of THE VOICE. The rest of the network line-ups are filled with fresh regular programming.
