AFTERNOON UPDATE: PARKS & RECREATION has been badly in need of a boost, and airing behind COMMUNITY may have supplied it, as an extra 0.1 in final numbers gave it a 1.5, which may not look like much but is up 50% from its last airing. It was the highest rated show on NBC last night, admittedly not the highest bar. THE BIG BANG THEORY grew still larger, up 0.1 to 5.7. The only other changes were 0.1 rises to reruns of SLEEPY HOLLOW and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.
THURSDAY CABLE: PAWN STARS (History) took the cable lead with 1.4/1.3 ratings last night, followed by 1.2 for NBA BASKETBALL on TNT. APPALACHIAN OUTLAWS (History) was at 0.9, WHITE COLLAR (USA) at 0.8, and GROUND FLOOR (TBS) at 0.7, the latter down 0.1 from last week. IFC’s premiere of THE SPOILS OF BABYLON didn’t register on the Top 100 cable telecasts of the night.
The arrow was up for CBS and NBC last night.
CBS: THE BIG BANG THEORY, incredibly, had more room to grow, rising 0.2 for its highest rating in almost a year at 5.6. THE MILLERS was up half a point, tying its series high 3.3. THE CRAZY ONES and 2 1/2 MEN, both at 2.4, were respectively up 0.4 and 0.2. ELEMENTARY was up too, by 0.2 to 2.0.
NBC: Naturally, at the Peacock the gains were more modest. Still, COMMUNITY and its Zodiac parody (the best of a busy parody week on TV) edged up 0.1 from its last airing in 2013 to 1.4, the 100th episode of PARKS & RECREATION soared 0.4 to 1.4, and even the lowly SEAN SAVES THE WORLD and THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW were both up 0.2 to 1.0s. Only PARENTHOOD didn’t join in the fun, holding steady at 1.3.
ABC: THE TASTE was even at 1.3, and THE ASSETS fell to the lowest level of any Big 4 drama this season, down 0.1 to 0.6.
FOX: 0.7/0.6 reruns as the network waits for American Idol to return next week.
CW: 0.3/0.3 reruns.
ENLISTED makes its debut on FOX tonight, and on cable, Syfy launches HELIX. The broadcast networks are almost all new, with CBS airing a rerun of the INTELLIGENCE pilot in the 8PM slot.
