FOX issued some glad tidings on Friday with the group renewals of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, New Girl and The Following, and today it was time for another shoe to fall. The network announced that the one-hour April 4 season finale of quirky sitcom RAISING HOPE will in fact be its series finale, and the show won’t be coming back. Hope‘s ratings, never huge to begin with, crashed with the show’s move to Fridays earlier this season (although one might fairly ask how much better Mindy, Brooklyn or even New Girl would have done in that slot), series creator Greg Garcia had left both the show and FOX’s in-house studio to head The Millers, and after 4 seasons, Hope has accumulated enough episodes for a lucrative post-network run, so this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
The announcement leaves 3 shows on FOX’s bubble: Dads and Almost Human, both of which have already finished their 2013-14 runs, and Enlisted. The network still has Surviving Jack arriving on March 27.
