Last night, House left the building.
FOX: The series finale of HOUSE had a respectable 2.9 rating, up a strong 0.7 from last week, but not even close to its season high, let alone the numbers from prior years. It was preceded by a 1-hour clip show that did an OK 2.1.
NBC: AMERICA’S GOT TALENT was down a significant 0.5 from its premiere last week to 3.2 (now that everyone’s had a look at Howard Stern as a judge). AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR premiered with a decent 2.4, but as Mitch Metcalf noted this morning, the show’s rating declined steadily throughout its 2 hours.
ABC: The season’s penultimate DANCING WITH THE STARS was up a bit from last week to 2.9, but that was still lower than the ratings the show was getting just 4-5 weeks ago, and far under last year’s numbers. THE BACHELORETTE held fairly well with 2.4, down just 0.2 from last week and 0.4 from last year’s parallel week.
CBS: A special called CLASH OF THE COMMERCIALS: AMERICA VS THE WORLD did a lousy 1.3, 3rd place in its hour and 0.6 below last year’s version of the thing. Before that, reruns of the Monday sitcoms scored 1.3-2.0 (which could easily be mistaken for first-run ratings of NBC’s comedies.)
CW: Reruns of ONE TREE HILL were barely visible at 0.2-0.3.
With just 2 nights left in the broadcast season, tonight’s finales include GLEE on FOX and DANCING WITH THE STARS on ABC.
