World Series Game 7 last night ended up with 40 million persons 2+ in an average minute and a stellar 12.6 P18-49 demographic rating, versus around 24 million P2+ and a 7 P18-49 demo rating for the last two Game 7 telecasts (in 2011 and 2014).
The Game 7 audience peaked in the 11:30-11:45 pm quarter hour with a huge 49.9 million person 2+ average per minute in that segment. The 18-49 audience peaked in the 11:45 pm -12:00 am quarter hour with an enormous 16.7 P18-49 rating (which equates to 21.5 million 18-49 year-olds). After the brief rain delay around midnight, just over 43 million viewers 2+ (and just under 20 million 18-49 year-olds) were in the audience from about 12:15-12:45 am to see the end of the game as the Chicago Cubs won their first world championship since 1908.
The Game 1-7 World Series average in 2016 ended up at just under 23 million persons 2+ and a 6.5 P18-49 rating, making it the best Series on both measures since 2006.
