SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Wednesday Cable Originals: 9.17.2014

NETWORK UPDATE:  THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA lost 0.1 in final numbers to 2.0.  With quarter-hour info, the spread between the end of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT (which gained 0.1 in adjusted numbers) and LAURA also got starker:  a 1.1 gap between the 2.9 NBC had at 9:45PM and the 1.8 still watching LAURA at 10:30PM.  Of course, we’ll know much more next week when the show airs in its regular timeslot.  RED BAND SOCIETY held its 1.3, and actually except for a blip during the 9:15-9:30PM quarter-hour, it would have been at 1.4 all through its hour, so the people who watched seemed to like what they saw.  LAURA skewed older and female, which is no surprise, and neither is the fact that RED BAND skewed young, with as many 18-34 viewers as LAURA despite the latter show’s much larger total audience.  Elsewhere, PENN & TELLER: FOOL US lost 0.1, and the MODERN FAMILY rerun gained 0.1.

WEDNESDAY CABLE:  It was a very steady night, with TEEN MOM (MTV) on top at 1.13, BRING IT (Lifetime) at 0.50 and MILLION DOLLAR LISTING (Bravo) at 0.49, all within one or two hundredths of last week.  The joke is just too easy, but most TEEN MOM fans didn’t stay for VIRGIN TERRITORY, which lost more than 70% of its lead-in with 0.28.   THE BRIDGE (FX) was stable at 0.41, while THE LEAGUE (FXX) gained half a tenth to get to the same 0.41.  On TNT, FRANKLIN & BASH was up 0.08 to 0.40, but LEGENDS remained sunk, virtually unchanged from last week at 0.29.
