NETWORK UPDATE:   The NFL Kickoff Game (Steelers vs Patriots on NBC) did not lift as much as we thought from the fast nationals to the official nationals (from 8.8 to 10.3), but the ratings were very good, as we expect from the NFL.  The 27,398,000 viewer 2+ number last night is above the recent average for the opening game and the best since 2010.  The demographics were closer to recent averages — still very good ratings.

Elsewhere, BIG BROTHER gained 0.1 in final numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  MTV’s TEEN MOM held at 0.98, and without any college football games on cable, that was enough for the win.  Lead-out ONE BAD CHOICE was up 0.04 to 0.36.  Lifetime’s PROJECT RUNWAY ticked up to 0.67.  On Syfy, WWE was also up a hundredth to 0.53, while DOMINION took a (season finale?) 0.11 leap to 0.28, and GEEKS WHO DRINK was up 0.02 to 0.12.  History’s MOUNTAIN MEN rose 0.05 to 0.47.  Nickelodeon’s afternoon ALVINNN AND THE CHIPMUNKS!!! continued to have a home in the Top 10, down a tick to 0.45.  On A&E, BEHIND BARS was up 0.03 to 0.39.  Food Network’s CHOPPED gained 0.03 to 0.38.  (The remaining 3 slots in the Top 10 went to daily ESPN telecasts, with a 4th at #11.)  Without a BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES lead-in, We’s LA HAIR fell 0.12 to 0.27.  USA’s GRACELAND dropped 0.03 to 0.22.  On FX, SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL lost 0.07 to 0.17, and MARRIED was down 0.06 to 0.13.  REVIEW (Comedy) collapsed by 0.11 to 0.09, with 203K total viewers.  On IFC, DOCUMENTARY NOW was up 0.01 to 0.03, with 89K total viewers, and COMEDY BANG BANG at least managed to get to 0.01, with 39K total viewers.  BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK (POP) was at 0.05/133K.
