Post-football Thursdays began for CBS.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: Note that while the CBS network didn’t air THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, its stations in Cleveland and Cincinnati were both preempted for the game, so these numbers are likely to change this afternoon. At the moment, THE BIG BANG THEORY is down 0.3 from its post-football debut last year at 3.8, and has a strong lead-out from LIFE IN PIECES at 2.3. A year-to-year comparison for MOM doesn’t mean much, since last year it had BIG BANG as its lead-in, but it’s currently at 2.0, with a BIG BANG rerun after it at 1.7. For now, ELEMENTARY is up from last year’s season premiere at 1.5.
ABC: After a week off, GREY’S ANATOMY lost 0.1 to 2.3. SCANDAL was steady at 2.3, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER rose 0.1 to 1.9.
NBC: HEROES REBORN was the show that seemed to benefit most from the end of CBS football, jumping an impressive 0.3 to (an admittedly still mediocre) 1.3. THE BLACKLIST, on the other hand, shed 0.1 to 1.4, while THE PLAYER stayed at 0.7.
FOX: Coming off their Halloween-themed crossover last week, BONES was down 0.1 to 1.2, and SLEEPY HOLLOW fell 0.2 to 0.9.
CW: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and THE ORIGINALS held at their respective 0.6/0.4.
FOX finally premieres its Friday line-up tonight after weeks of reruns, with MASTERCHEF JR followed by WORLD’S FUNNIEST.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
