FOX: The NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME has a preliminary 14.3, comparable to last year’s game (which aired on CBS) After the post-game show, THE X-FILES began its limited run at 10:24PM, and it has a preliminary 5.1, which is better than the 3.2 SCORPION had after 2015’s game, but perhaps not as much of an ratings event as the network had hoped after months of intensive hype.
ABC: On a night otherwise filled with reruns (topped by 0.8 for AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS), GALAVANT lost 0.1 to 0.5.
CBS: The 1st hour of 60 MINUTES benefited from the afternoon NFL game, and was solid at 2.0. It fell to 1.2 in the 2d hour, and was followed by 0.7/0.8 reruns.
NBC: After a 0.6 DATELINE, a run of the movie BRIDESMAIDS was at 0.9.
FOX moves THE X-FILES to its regular timeslot at 8PM tonight, and uses it to launch its new supernatural procedural LUCIFER. On cable, Freeform debuts RECOVERY ROAD after the midseason premiere of THE FOSTERS, and Syfy has the official premiere of THE MAGICIANS after airing its 1st hour as a “preview” last month.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
