Everyone knows it’s not worthwhile for the networks to put on real programming during the summer, because no one watches… except for the 14 million or so who tuned in last night.
ABC: Miami and Oklahoma City cooperated to give ABC what it wanted: a competitive NBA FINALS. The game outrated its 5 competitors combined (that includes Univision), with a 5.8 that will probably go up when final numbers are in later today.
NBC: Audiences continue not to respond to a low-budget Canadian medical soap about a comatose semi-ghost surgeon wandering the halls of his hospital in a tuxedo, aka SAVING HOPE–who would have guessed? It pulled a 0.7, less than half of what an AMERICA’S GOT TALENT rerun scored in the previous hour.
FOX: TAKE ME OUT was in 4th place for its hour with a 1.1. THE CHOICE was better, in 2d place at 9PM with a 1.5. Both were down from last week, but the basketball competition has to be taken into account.
CBS: Reruns, highlighted by a 2.1 for THE BIG BANG THEORY–good enough to tie ABC’s special Jimmy Kimmel Live for the lead in its slot.
CW: BREAKING POINTE was up to a 0.3, which was an increase of 0.1 or 50%, depending on your views of half-full and half-empty cups.
ABC is devoting its Friday primetime to MEGASTUNTS, an attempted highwire walk over Niagara Falls. The only other new programming on the networks is DATELINE on NBC. USA features the season finale of FAIRLY LEGAL.
