We don’t have numbers for The Newsroom yet, but the show certainly won’t be able to blame the broadcast network competition if its ratings disappoint.
NBC: The network won the night with 1.2s across the board, including the US OLYMPIC TRIALS (down a bit from 4 years ago), DATELINE, and AMERICA’S GOT TALENT repeats.
ABC: The premiere of EXTREME MAKEOVER: WEIGHT LOSS EDITION garnered only a 0.9, down over 60% from last year’s premiere 2.4 (which was on a Monday). Makeover was even below its lead-in from a rerun SECRET MILLIONAIRE.
CBS: All reruns, the highest being a 1.0 for 60 MINUTES.
FOX: For Rupert Murdoch’s family and the 0.9 worth of viewers who cared, a repeat of the very mediocre FOX 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL
Everything new tonight is unscripted. ABC will hope more people tune in to GLASS HOUSE than cared about it last week, and NBC will hope the same for more US OLYMPIC TRIALS. All will be quiet this week until Thursday, when FX debuts its new comedy slate.
