>Not surprisingly, on Christmas night America just wanted its football (and a little basketball).
NBC: The network had a solid game with 2 marquee teams (Green Bay vs. Chicago) and zero new competition, and the result was its best rating in weeks.
ABC: The high point for the ratings evening was the overrun from the late afternoon segment of Sunday’s NBA opening day. After that, a double feature of the original and Jim Carrey versions of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS couldn’t do better than a 1.1 after 8:30PM (the 1.7 at 8PM may be adjusted in final numbers due to basketball).
CBS: Everything on this night of repeats was below a 1.0.
FOX: Triumph! From 9-10PM, these repeats made it all the way to 1.0.
