THE SKED’S TUESDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 8/28/12

Republicans ♥ NBC?

NBC:  Somewhat ironically, considering the Right’s loathing of MSNBC, preliminary numbers have the Peacock as the GOP network of choice for last night’s coverage of the REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION, with a 1.3, more than the CBS and ABC numbers combined.  The rating may be somewhat attributable to the 2.4 earned in the previous hours by AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, the highest-rated show of the night not on FOX (which didn’t provide convention coverage on its mothership network).

FOX:  MASTERCHEF‘s new hour at 9PM won the night for FOX with a 2.8, and even the rerun episode at 8PM scored a 1.5.

ABC:  Sitcom reruns didn’t get higher than 0.8 (with a particularly sorry 0.5 for DON’T TRUST THE B– IN APT 23), leading to 0.5 for Convention coverage.

CBS:  NCIS reruns at 1.2-1.1, followed by Convention coverage at 0.6.

CW:  The network shifted The LA Complex to Mondays in order to start airing reruns of HART OF DIXIE in what will be its regular timeslot starting in October, and reruns of that and THE NEXT had matching 0.2s.

Tonight, only ABC will air reruns in the 8-10PM hours, with new reality programming on all the other networks.  10PM’s Convention coverage will feature VP nominee Paul Ryan.
