In the battle for second place in the ShowbuzzDaily Summer Movie Draft, very little changed the past week.  Team Weil’s slate tacked on $41.6 million the past seven days, while Team Salem added $40.9 million.  Weil remains $69 million ahead of Salem ($1.004 billion to $935 million for the entire summer).

In the next week or two, Salem should close the gap but only by $10 million or so.  Salem probably has $60 million to go from three films ($23 million more from Bourne Legacy, $20 million more from The Campaign, and $17 million from Hope Springs).  In contrast, Weil probably has about $51 million more from two main sources ($34 million more from The Expendables 2 and another $17 million from Dark Knight Rises).  Salem will probably finish just under $1 billion (right around $995 million), while Weil should hold on to second place with $1.05 billion.  Metcalf will remain right around $1.35 billion.

Look for the final update after Labor Day.
