Sports dominated the top of the cable chart again this week, led of course by NFL Monday Night Football with a very good 6.9 Adult 18-49 rating. TBS had some very good performances in the League Division Series, when the Yankees and Phillies were still in the running and when their respective Series culminated in decisive Game 5 contests. But the numbers have turned sour in the next round of the Postseason. For example, a League Championship Series game on Sunday afternoon could only muster a 1.0 rating, and a primetime LCS game on Monday could not even make the chart (a lowly 0.8 rating). This does not bode well for the World Series.
Jersey Shore and Keeping Up with the Kardashians were the top cable entertainment choices, while FX’s Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story were the top cable scripted programs. The season finale of the excellent Breaking Bad on AMC finally made the chart, if only because we bent the rules and extended the bottom of the chart to a 1.0.
