FOX’s week isn’t going as originally planned.  Last night a rainout of the American League playoffs forced the network to air repeats and drop out of the Sunday ratings picture.  Today that game was rescheduled for the afternoon… but as this is being written, the game is in the 11th inning, tied 3-3, half an hour into primetime, and although Fox, unlike CBS, usually tries not to let its schedule slide for sports, the network is saying that tonight both TERRA NOVA and HOUSE will air in their entirety after the game ends.  (Of course, that will become more problematic if the game doesn’t end sometime soon.)

In other FOX news, don’t get all excited about those special NEW GIRL episodes that were supposed to air after X FACTOR this Wednesday and next Tuesday, because they’ve been pulled from the schedule.  X Factor will now run 2 hours on those nights, and New Girl won’t be seen until Glee returns post-baseball on November 1.  Perhaps the network didn’t want to waste what is now a valuable player on its Tuesdays with episodes on irregular days; in any case, Zooey Deschanel fans will have to dust off their DVDs of (500) Days of Summer (or, if I may suggest, try something more obscure like Mumford or All the Real Girls) for their October fix of manic pixieness.
