NBC, taking its successes where it can find them, has renewed GRIMM for a second season. The show has done solidly on Friday nights, with ratings in the mid-1s that often win the hour, so it was never in any danger of being cancelled–the question for next season is whether NBC feels confident enough to move the show to a tougher night.
The interesting decisions for NBC, of course, are still to come. Unless SMASH collapses in the next week or two, it’s virtually certain to be renewed, and ARE YOU THERE, CHELSEA? with its atrocious 1.1 score this week is all but dead, but what about low-rated AWAKE and UP ALL NIGHT? Now that the pick-up process has started, we’ll know soon enough.
