>CBS had a strong Monday last night, up 19% over the same night last year.  ABC finished in second but slid 12% versus last year’s comparable night.  FOX was flat.  And NBC turned in a Monday down 17% from the same night last year.  NOTE: The fast nationals for Monday will be very accurate as no network affiliate carried the ESPN Monday Night Football game last night locally instead of the network schedule.  The game Bears-Eagles game was carried over-the-air in Chicago and Philadelphia on independent stations.  A nightly summary and a sweep average to date follows.

All four CBS comedies are back above a 4 rating each, something that hasn’t happened since October 3.  The 8-9 pm comedies rebounded from Halloween last week, returning to the ratings posted two weeks ago.  Two and a Half Men also rebounded from Halloween but failed to hit the 5.5 it scored two weeks ago.  It’s quite possible that the flagship CBS comedy could regularly fall below a 5 rating by December or January — still a healthy rating but not delivering on the promise of what the show was doing in October.

CBS Mon Track    9.19  9.26  10.3  10.10 10.17 10.24 10.31 11.7
How I Met Your   4.9   4.5   4.5   4.0   4.2   4.3   4.2   4.4*
2 Broke Girls    7.1   4.6   4.5   4.3   4.4   4.5   4.3   4.5*
Two Half Men    10.7   7.4   6.2   5.9   5.3   5.5   4.7   5.1*
Mike & Molly        4.8   4.3   3.9   3.9   4.2   3.7   4.2*
Hawaii Five-O    3.4   3.3   3.2   2.7   3.1   3.1   3.0   3.0*

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars also rebounded from Halloween lows, hitting the second-highest rating of the year (but far below the 4.0 Dancing recorded on this night last year).  Castle did not rebound, however, from Halloween — actually down a few tenths of a rating point from last week.

ABC Mon Track    9.19  9.26  10.3  10.10 10.17 10.24 10.31 11.7

Castle           3.2   3.1   2.5   2.1   2.5   2.4   2.7   2.5*

FOX’s two dramas are back to levels last seen on October 10, the second week of the Terra Nova and House schedule and the week a very long baseball game push each show almost one hour past its appointed time.  With a little schedule stability the two dramas might be able to push back to the 2.9 range regularly.

FOX Mon Track    9.19  9.26  10.3  10.10 10.17 10.24 10.31 11.7
Terra Nova       —   3.1   3.1   2.5   2.8   —   2.1   2.6*
House            —   —   3.9   2.7   3.1   —   2.5   2.7*

The Sing-Off was up one tenth of a rating point last night, back to the second lowest rating of the year.  The bounty of the extra lead-in did not accrue to Rock Center, however.  The struggling news magazine stayed at a 1.0 rating for the hour (a 1.0 at 10:00-10:30 and 0.9 at 10:30-11:00).

NBC Mon Track    9.19  9.26  10.3  10.10 10.17 10.24 10.31 11.7
The Sing-Off     1.9   1.7   1.8   1.5   1.6   1.5   1.4   1.5*
