NBC’s pre-Upfront pick-up spree continues with GUYS WITH KIDS, its first multicamera comedy order of the season.  The title seems to be self-explanatory:  the show’s logline describes it as being about thirtysomething guys (Anthony Anderson, Jesse Bradford and Zach Cregger) who have, you know, kids, despite being child-men themselves (see:  every Judd Apatow movie ever).  Also in the cast is Jamie-Lynn Sigler.  The writer is Charlie Grandy, a Co-Executive Producer on The Office, and before that, a writer on Saturday Night Live (which may explain why the project hails from Jimmy Fallon’s production company, through NBC’s in-house studio Universal TV).

NBC doesn’t have much of a multicamera bench, and one hopes this news doesn’t mean the network was looking for a companion piece to the dreaded Whitney for the fall.  Word has it that at least one other multicamera pilot (Table For Three aka Daddy’s Girls) is still in the NBC mix.
