>Game 3 of the World Series scored a 3.2 Adult 18-49 rating in the fast nationals, a number which will probably go up to a 3.5 in the official nationals Tuesday morning.  This would keep Game 3 comfortably ahead of last year’s record low Game 3 (San Francisco-Texas, 2.9).  The past five years (since Game 3 began airing on Saturday nights) are summarized below.

  • 2007 Boston-Colorado: 5.8 Game 1, 5.3 Game 2, 4.3 Game 3
  • 2008 Philadelphia-Tampa Bay: 4.8, 4.0, 3.2
  • 2009 NY Yankees-Philadelphia: 6.3, 5.8, 4.7
  • 2010 San Francisco-Texas: 4.7, 4.0, 2.9
  • 2011 Texas- St Louis: 4.2, 4.0, 3.5* (*estimated official)

The other networks were under a 1 rating on Saturday night.  CBS averaged a 0.9 with repeats, NBC averaged a 0.8 for USC at Notre Dame college football, and ABC averaged a 0.7 for Washington at Stanford.  The two college football games will be adjusted upward in the official nationals, especially because West Coast teams are involved.
