In news that ranks as a “no-brainer” in several respects, Lifetime has renewed its hit new series THE CLIENT LIST for a second season, this time for 15 episodes rather than 10. (It’s not clear whether all the episodes will air at once or if the order will be split into 2 mini-seasons, which wouldn’t be unusual for cable.) The show, featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt as a wife and mother deserted by her husband who gives “happy endings” at a Texas massage parlor in order to make ends meet, is the first scripted hit Lifetime has put on the air since Army Wives debuted 6 seasons ago.
Client List will never win a Peabody award–it’s not clear if the people who put the show together could spell “Peabody”–but the vehicle for Hewitt’s breasts has proven itself terrifically compatible with Army Wives on the network’s Sunday night line-up, scoring almost identical ratings at or near a 1.0 each week the 2 shows have been on.
