>The third highest-rated program on the first night of the May Sweep last night was not on a broadcast network. The NFL Draft on ESPN scored an impressive 3.3 rating with Adults 18-49, averaging 6.7 million viewers 2+. Only Big Bang Theory on CBS (4.1 in the official nationals) and American Idol on FOX (4.0 official national) had a bigger young adult audience last night. Grey Anatomy on ABC rounded up in the official nationals to tie the NFL Draft with a 3.3 rating. The NFL Draft will certainly be the top program on cable this week. Look for the updated weekly cable ratings chart Tuesday.
tvbythenumbers.com reports the combined rating of the ESPN coverage and the NFL Network coverage of the draft averaged a 4.0 rating with young adults, up from a combined 3.4 rating last year. The NFL remains red hot.
