THE SKED THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 5/17/12

Grey’s has still got it–other veteran shows don’t.

ABC:  The GREY’S ANATOMY was up 0.4 from last week to a robust 3.9, its highest rating in months.  That helped push the SCANDAL season finale to a series high 2.4.  Earlier in the evening, MISSING departed forever with a comparatively tiny 1.3 (although that was up 0.2 from last week).

CBS:  Apart from THE BIG BANG THEORY (2.4 with a repeat), everything was a season finale.  The Big Bang rerun did no good for RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, which was down 0.6 to a season low 2.1.  PERSON OF INTEREST was down slightly to 2.5 (just above its series low), but for THE MENTALIST, 2.5 was slightly up from last week.

FOX:  No surprise, AMERICAN IDOL won the night for FOX with a 4.2, which was about 2/3 of the parallel number last season (and up 0.2 from last week, not even as much proportionately as the same Thursday had been from the week before in 2011).  TOUCH‘s season finale hit a series low 1.8.

NBC:  The network’s “who gives a damn” final Thursday of the season featured 1.3 ratings straight through from 8-10PM, tying the series low for COMMUNITY, and barely above 30 ROCK‘s series low.  Keeping with the evening’s theme, AWAKE tied its 0.7 series low.

CW:  Already in summer mode, as a PEREZ HILTON ALL ACCESS special with Katy Perry had a 0.3, better than the 0.2 for a VAMPIRE DIARIES repeat.

Tonight’s season finales include NBC’s WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? and GRIMM, ABC’s SHARK TANK, and CW’s NIKITA and SUPERNATURAL.
