>Last night, FOX won again with a 3.0 Adult 18-49 rating, up from a 2.2 the same night last year.  The X Factor continues to fade but it still represents a massive time period improvement.  CBS was in second place with a 2.8 rating despite the curious decision to run repeats of Person of Interest and The Mentalist in the middle of the November sweep.  ABC had a pretty good night from 9-11 pm but it was not enough to pass CBS.  ABC averaged a 2.7 for the night.  NBC finished fourth, at a 1.8 rating, and Prime Suspect certainly did not benefit from the repeat on CBS: the Maria Bello detective drama is stuck at a 1.2 rating.

           NOVEMBER SWEEP LAST NIGHT
          2011 vs 2010 Day 15

                 2011    2010
          FOX     3.0     2.2     +36%
          CBS     2.8     3.1     -11%

          ABC     2.7     2.6     + 3%

          NBC     1.8     2.0     -10%

           NOVEMBER SWEEP SCORECARD
          2011 vs 2010 Through Day 15 of 28

                 2011    2010
          FOX     3.6     2.8     +27%
          CBS     3.1     2.8     +10%
          ABC     2.4     2.6     – 7%
          NBC     2.4     2.4     + 2%

FOX won the night with a 3.0 rating from 8-10 pm although it did not win either the 8 or 9 pm hour.  The X Factor (3.3 preliminary rating) lost to Big Bang Theory on CBS, and Bones (2.7 rating) lost to Grey’s Anatomy on ABC.  FOX simply avoided any black holes on their night such as Charlie’s Angels at 8 pm on ABC, the repeat dramas on CBS, or pretty much everything on NBC except for The Office

FOX Thu Track    9.22  9.29  10.6  10.13 10.20 10.27 11.3  11.10
X Factor         4.3   3.9   4.0   3.7   —   —   3.7   3.3*
Bones            —   —   —   —   —   —   3.3   2.7*

CBS had a solid 8-9 pm comedy hour performance, but the repeat dramas at 9 and 10 pm turned in soft ratings.  The real question is why take repeats on November 10?

CBS Thu Track    9.22  9.29  10.6  10.13 10.20 10.27 11.3  11.10
Big Bang Theory  5.0   4.9   4.5   4.6   5.1   4.6   5.4   5.2*
Rules Engagement —   —   —   —   3.6   3.3   3.7   3.6*
Person Interest  3.1   2.7   2.6   2.8   2.7   2.7   2.7   2.0R*
Mentalist        2.8   2.6   2.7   2.5   2.5   2.5   2.9   1.9R*

ABC had a good night from 9-11 pm, taking advantage of CBS’s repeats.  Grey’s Anatomy almost hit the season high from the premiere, and Private Practice set a season high.  But that albatross at 8 pm, Charlie’s Angels and its season low 1.1, kept ABC from edging past CBS for second place on the night.

ABC Thu Track    9.22  9.29  10.6  10.13 10.20 10.27 11.3  11.10
Charlie’s Angels 2.1   1.5   1.2   1.3   1.2   —   1.2   1.1*
Grey’s Anatomy   4.1   3.6   3.1   3.6   3.6   3.7   3.6   4.0*
Private Practice  —   2.8   2.1   2.3   2.3   2.4   2.6   2.9*

NBC’s all-original line-up fell back a bit from last week’s numbers, almost back down the October 27 levels against the World Series Game 6.  Community was only one tenth of a rating point above The Vampire Diaries on The CW, and Prime Suspect remains stuck at a very weak 1.2 rating.  The lone bright spot (relatively) on NBC Thursday is The Office, which is nonetheless only one tenth of a rating point above the season low.

NBC Thu Track    9.22  9.29  10.6  10.13 10.20 10.27 11.3  11.10
Community        1.7   1.8   1.5   1.7   0.9R  1.4   1.7   1.5*
Parks & Rec      2.1   2.1   2.0   2.1   1.1R  1.8   2.1   1.8*

The Office       3.9   3.5   3.2   3.3   1.5R  2.9   3.2   3.0*

Whitney          3.3   2.5   2.3   2.0   1.1R  2.0   2.1   2.1*

Prime Suspect    1.8   1.5   1.5   1.3   0.8R  1.1   1.2   1.2*
