>ABC’s Work It is sinking fast (and Last Man Standing is struggling, as well), while the CBS Tuesday schedule continues to chug along and NBC’s line up ages toward irrelevance.

             Nightly Adult 18-49 Rating
Tuesday      CBS    NBC    ABC    FOX
01.10.2012   3.2    2.1    1.9    1.1
01.11.2011   3.5    2.9    1.5    1.7

CBS won another Tuesday last night with a 3.2 preliminary Adult 18-49 rating for its all-original regular schedule.  NCIS was even with last week (near a season high), while NCIS: Los Angeles was in the middle of the range for original episodes this season and Unforgettable tied a series low.  However, the ratings for Unforgettable and the other two 10 pm network dramas are subject to significant revision in the official ratings because the network affiliates in Boston each ran low-rated local coverage of neighboring New Hampshire’s presidential primary (each in the 3 household share range).  Boston is the nation’s 7th largest TV market with 2.1% of the US audience.  Last year CBS cruised to a first-place 3.5 rating for the night with: NCIS (4.5), NCIS: LA (3.7) and The Good Wife (2.3).

CBS Tues     High Low  12.6 1213 1220 1227 01.3 1.10

Unforgettble 2.9  2.2  1.7R 2.2  1.7R —   2.6  2.2*

ABC’s comedy hour at 8 pm is hitting bottom.  Last Man Standing set a series low at 8:00, and the second episode of Work It at 8:30 fell all the way to a 1.6.  The next episode of the cross-dressing comedy will probably hit a 1.4 rating and be its final telecast.  Read Mitch Salem’s review of the second episode for this embarrassment of a show.  Celebrity Wife Swap and Body of Proof were near last week’s soft levels.  The 1.9 rating for ABC last night is still higher than the 1.5 on the same night last year: No Ordinary Family (1.5), V (1.9) and Detroit 187 (1.0).

ABC Tues           High Low  12.6 1213 1220 1227 01.3 1.10

NBC averaged a 2.1 last night, very similar to last week’s number.  Last year on this night (Tuesday, January 11, 2011) NBC challenged CBS for first with a 2.9 rating: Biggest Loser (3.2) and Parenthood (2.2).

NBC Tues     High Low  12.6 1213 1220 1227 01.3 1.10

More repeats from FOX and another fourth-place finish (1.1 rating from 8-10 pm).  Last year on this night, a relatively robust 1.7 rating for the evening from: Glee repeat (1.7) and Million Dollar Drop (1.8).
