>Last night CBS was the only network to top a 2 rating with Adults 18-49, showing substantial growth from the same night last year.  The other networks were closer to a 1 rating on the final Wednesday of 2011.  Complete program ratings tracks follow and read more at the Wednesday Network Scorecard.

CBS Wednesday topped the broadcast networks with a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49.  At 8 pm a special repeat of NCIS: Los Angeles scored a 1.8 rating in the Survivor time period, followed by 2+-rated repeats of the 9 and 10 pm dramas.  Last year on this night (Wednesday, December 29, 2010): NCIS: Los Angeles (1.3), Criminal Minds (2.0) and The Defenders (1.4).

ABC repeated its entire Wednesday lineup last night and finished with a weak second-place 1.2 rating from 8-11 pm.  On this night last year, ABC averaged a 1.6 rating with six comedy repeats: The Middle (1.6), Better with You (1.5), Modern Family (2.0), Modern Family (2.2), Cougar Town (1.4) and Cougar Town (1.2).

FOX tried four comedies last night and averaged only a 1.0 rating: Raising Hope (0.9), Raising Hope (0.9), New Girl (1.0) and New Girl (1.1).  Last year on this night: two Human Target repeats (both 0.9).

NBC pulled into fourth place with a 0.8 rating for the night with repeats of its regular schedule and a special Whitney repeat at 8:30 (0.8).  The time periods will be stone cold when the new lineup of Whitney, Are There, Chelsea?, a relocated Rock Center try to support Law & Order: SVU in the new year.  Last year on this night: Undercovers (0.9), Law & Order SVU (1.0) and Law & Order SVU (1.6).
