Season 1 of X Factor is in the books.
FOX:  On a night with only 2 other weak hours of first-run network programming, THE X FACTOR‘s season finale of course dominated, with a 3.8 rating that concluded a very solid run.  That’s 0.1 higher than the finale of last season’s The Voice, and Factor‘s highest rating since October.  It was only the 4th highest rating of X Factor‘s season, however, and not even in the neighborhood of American Idol, which is the neighborhood it was designed to visit.

NBC:  Against the X Factor finale, another episode of WHO’S STILL STANDING? fell to a 1.5.  A burn-off new episode of Prime Suspect couldn’t even come close to a Mentalist rerun at 10PM (1.0 vs 1.5).
CBS:  Its slate of repeats were a strong 2d against X Factor, and once that was over, Mentalist‘s rerun won its hour.
ABC:  Repeat Xmas specials couldn’t do better than a 1.1 from 8-10PM, and then a repeat of the serialized Grey’s Anatomy plummeted to 0.7 at 10PM.
CW:  Repeats, but it’s worth noting that the 9PM SECRET CIRCLE repeat not only beat its VAMPIRE DIARIES lead-in, but scored a 0.5 that isn’t far below what some first-run programming on the network has been doing.
Tonight the only original hours of programming on network television will be CHUCK (as NBC hustles to get it off their air) and 20/20
