The title BETTER LATE THAN NEVER may also have applied to its late-August launch.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
NBC: AMERICA’S GOT TALENT returned to the schedule for the first time since August 2, down 0.1 to 2.4. That provided an effective lead-in for BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, which held on to two-thirds of the TALENT audience with 1.6.
ABC: Both BACHELOR IN PARADISE and its AFTER-SHOW were 0.1 above last week’s levels, at 1.4/0.7. However, a retrospective special celebrating 20 years of THE VIEW flopped at 0.4.
CBS: ZOO gained 0.1 to 0.8, with the surrounding procedural reruns at 0.8/0.7.
CW: MADTV stayed at last week’s 0.2, below its THE FLASH rerun lead-in of 0.3.
FOX: Reruns at 0.3-0.4.
Tonight’s season finales include DUCK DYNASTY and WAHLBURGERS on A&E, and ANOTHER PERIOD on Comedy Central. Sundance launches GOMORRAH, a subtitled Italian-language drama airing in 2 1/2-hour chunks that’s unlikely to change the network’s fortunes.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
