THE CATCH remained ShondaLand’s weak link.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
ABC: Returning from last week’s WHEN WE RISE preemption, GREY’S ANATOMY was down 0.1 to 1.9, and SCANDAL was steady at 1.4. The season premiere of THE CATCH was unpromising at 0.8, not just down 0.4 from last year’s premiere, but down 0.1 from the season finale.
NBC: Lacking last week’s super-charge of a lead-in from THE VOICE, CHICAGO MED crashed by half a point to 1.2, and THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION was down 0.2 to 0.8. In the night’s opening hour, a 0.7 SUPERSTORE rerun was followed by 0.8 for POWERLESS, up 0.1 from 2 weeks ago.
FOX: MASTERCHEF JR held at 1.1, and the premiere of KICKING AND SCREAMING was at 0.7, down 0.1 from last week’s MY KITCHEN RULES.
CBS: The sitcom line-up returned from a week off, with THE BIG BANG THEORY steady at 2.8, THE GREAT INDOORS down 0.1 to 1.4, MOM up 0.1 to 1.5, and LIFE IN PIECES up 0.1 to 1.3. TRAINING DAY, which was new last week, dropped 0.1 to 0.7.
CW: SUPERNATURAL lost 0.1 to 0.5, and the newly-renewed RIVERDALE remained at 0.4.
A CW era ends tonight with the finale of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, preceded by a clip-show farewell. CBS airs a MACGYVER/HAWAII 5-0 crossover.
