Another Thursday where football simulcasts could affect ratings on 2 networks. For now, at least, Scandal is having a moment.
ABC: The midseason finale of SCANDAL, pre-football adjustment in Philadelphia, is at what would be a new series high 2.7, its third high-scoring week in a row. (Even after any revision, the show will easily have won the 10PM hour.) That followed a 3.1 for GREY’S ANATOMY, up slightly (currently) from last week. The night began with a flat 1.2 for the canceled LAST RESORT.
CBS: The Cincinnati side of the NFL simulcast was on CBS, so its numbers may also need adjustment. For now, everything is up 0.1-0.2 from last week: THE BIG BANG THEORY to 5.4, 2 1/2 MEN to 4.2, PERSON OF INTEREST to 3.0, and ELEMENTARY to 2.3.
NBC: An all-new but atypical line-up gave NBC a pathetic 1.0 average for what used to be the highest-rated night on all of television. An hour of UP ALL NIGHT episodes (presumably burning off the last of the series’ single-camera episodes before it returns as a multi-camera in the spring) did a series-low 0.9 followed by a 1.1. TAKE IT ALL, again barely breathing without a Voice lead-in, had a 1.2, up a tick from Wednesday. ROCK CENTER was down a tick to 0.9.
FOX: THE X FACTOR was down slightly from last week at 2.4. The holiday episode of GLEE fell to 2.0, down 0.2 from last week.
CW: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ midseason finale held steady at 1.2, and BEAUTY & THE BEAST was up slightly to 0.6.
The only new series programming tonight consists of FRINGE on FOX and the LAST MAN STANDING/MALIBU COUNTRY hour on ABC. Everything else is a rerun, a holiday special, or both.
