Week 2 ended on another depressing note for the networks.

CBS: The late national NFL game was at FOX this week, which sent 60 MINUTES spiraling down by a full point to 1.1. WISDOM OF THE CROWD fell 0.3 in its 2d week to 1.0. NCIS: LA was also down 0.3 to 1.0. The season premiere of MADAM SECRETARY dropped 0.3 from the 2016 premiere (in the 9PM hour) to 0.8.
FOX: Conversely, the NFL overrun pushed THE SIMPSONS up 0.8 to 2.2. But with that much bigger lead-in, GHOSTED only managed to hold last week’s 1.4, which doesn’t bode well for next week. FAMILY GUY (1.4) and THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1.0) were each up 0.1.
ABC: After THE TOY BOX held at 0.4, AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS premiered at 0.9, SHARK TANK lost 0.2 from last week’s 2-hour premiere to 1.1, and 10 DAYS IN THE VALLEY dropped 0.1 to an even more dreadful 0.4.
NBC: The preliminary 5.2 for SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL was up 0.3 from last week’s early number.
Now that the larger broadcasters have had 2 weeks to peddle their wares, CW begins its premiere week tonight with SUPERGIRL and the new series VALOR.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
