The ShondaLand crossover was a glass half-empty, half-full situation.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
ABC: The line-up aired for the first time since February 8, but numbers were low that night because it was against the first (pre-Opening Ceremony) night of the Olympics. Compared to that night, the GREY’S ANATOMY 2.0 was steady, SCANDAL’s 1.3 was up 0.2, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER’s 1.1 was up 0.3. However, compared to February 1 with no Olympics competition, the results were respectively down 0.3, down 0.1 and up 0.1.
CBS: Airing for the first time since February 1, THE BIG BANG THEORY dropped 0.4 to 2.5, YOUNG SHELDON lost 0.2 to 2.1, MOM held at 1.5, and LIFE IN PIECES was down 0.1 to 1.1. SWAT shed 0.1 to 0.9.
NBC: On its first airing since February 1, SUPERSTORE was down 0.1 to 1.0. Two episodes of AP BIO were unimpressive at 0.8/0.7, and WILL & GRACE lost 0.1 to 1.1. CHICAGO FIRE was up 0.1 to 1.1.
FOX: GOTHAM aired for the first time since December 7, and was steady at 0.8. SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO returned at 0.6.
CW: SUPERNATURAL (0.6) and ARROW (0.4) were steady with February 8.
ONCE UPON A TIME returns from its lengthy hiatus tonight for what turns out to be its final stretch of episodes.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
