CBS:  The network was preempted in both New York City and Buffalo for THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, so we’re going to hold comparisons until finals this afternoon.  For now, we’ll simply report that the preliminary ratings have THE BIG BANG THEORY at 2.7, YOUNG SHELDON at 2.4, MOM at 1.8, LIFE IN PIECES at 1.5, and the series premiere of SWAT at 1.3.

NBC:  The sitcom vs. sitcom competition took its toll, but only for one week (until 2018), as SUPERSTORE dropped 0.2 to 1.0, THE GOOD PLACE slipped 0.1 to 1.0, and both WILL & GRACE (1.5) and GREAT NEWS (0.7) fell 0.3.  CHICAGO FIRE was down 0.2 to 1.0.

ABC:  GREY’S ANATOMY (1.8), SCANDAL (1.1) and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (0.9) were all steady.

FOX:  GOTHAM stayed at 0.9, but THE ORVILLE dropped 0.2 to 1.0.

CW:  SUPERNATURAL (0.6) and ARROW (0.5) were steady.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
